A new sprinkler supplier for Australian households
A new supplier for homes will start shipping sprinklers to Australia’s biggest city this week, but will only be available to homes built before 2020.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported that a group of Australian builders have teamed up with a US company, Rheingold, to manufacture and supply residential sprinklers.
The Rhelingold company, founded in 2011, says it will manufacture sprinklers in Australia.
The company will offer a variety of different options to customers, including in-house design and build, as well as using a mix of imported components, and third-party suppliers.
Sydney Morning Herald, which first reported the news, quoted a spokesman for the Sydney-based company saying it was a great opportunity for local residents.
“The Rhaingold team is excited to be working with our suppliers and partners in Sydney to provide our customers with a highly reliable, affordable and high quality product that is compatible with the most popular home building materials,” Rhaingsold spokesperson Michael Lippmann told the newspaper.
“This collaboration will allow Rhaingingold to continue to provide a competitive pricing solution for its customers.”
A spokesperson for the Australian Building and Construction Commission said the company was “looking forward to working with the Australian government and the builder industry to deliver the sprinkler solution that is needed in Sydney.”
Rheingolds company has made headlines before.
The New York Times reported in November that Rhaeningold had been “quietly working to develop a product to help Australian consumers meet the demand for the home-supply of the future,” and that Rheingsold had already been awarded a patent for a sprinkler that could be installed in a house.
The Australian Building & Construction Commission did not respond to ABC News’ request for comment about the latest deal.
